Main Salmon River
6-Night Wellness Retreat
Let the River Restore You
6 Nights • 7 Days • Main Salmon River, Idaho
Step away from the noise and into the rhythm of the river.
Our Main Salmon River 6-Night Wellness Retreat combines an unforgettable wilderness adventure with intentional opportunities to slow down, reconnect, and restore. Over the trip you’ll travel through one of the West’s most spectacular river corridors while weaving in sunrise yoga, guided meditation, journaling, restorative practices, and meaningful connection.
This isn’t a traditional wellness retreat.
Your wellness journey happens on the river.
Wake to the sounds of flowing water. Move your body beneath an Idaho sunrise. Spend the day rafting through exciting whitewater, hiking canyon trails, swimming in clear pools, and exploring the landscape. Then settle into camp, stretch, breathe, reflect, and watch the stars emerge above the canyon walls.
Everything is optional.
You can join the yoga, meditate, journal, explore, connect with others, or simply sit beside the river.
There is no pressure to participate in everything. This is your journey.
JEN VALDEZ
Jen is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Yoga Instructor, and Sound Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in the wellness and healing arts. Her work is rooted in the belief that true well-being comes from creating space to reconnect with ourselves—physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically.
Since 2013, Jen has been helping facilitate wellness retreats and immersive experiences, weaving together massage and bodywork, yoga, meditation, sound healing, and other practices designed to support relaxation, presence, and deeper connection. Her approach is intuitive and highly experiential, allowing her to meet people where they are and create practices that feel both accessible and meaningful.
For Jen, wellness isn’t about following a rigid formula or checking another item off a list. It’s about slowing down, getting out of the noise of everyday life, and giving ourselves the opportunity to breathe, reconnect, and listen inward. She loves creating experiences where people can settle into their bodies, quiet their minds, and simply be present with the people, places, and moments around them.
The Salmon River provides the perfect setting for this kind of experience. Surrounded by wild landscapes, flowing water, expansive skies, and the natural rhythm of the river, Jen is excited to bring her years of experience to this unique adventure. Throughout the trip, she’ll offer a variety of wellness experiences designed to complement the adventure of being on the river—from yoga and guided meditation to sound healing, bodywork, and opportunities for personal reflection and connection.
Jen is passionate about creating spaces where people can step away from their everyday routines and return home feeling more grounded, restored, connected, and inspired. She is incredibly excited to share this special experience on the Salmon River and to help make the journey as nourishing for the mind and body as it is adventurous for the spirit.

Your Wellness Journey
Wellness is woven naturally into the rhythm of each river day.
Sunrise Yoga
Begin the morning with gentle movement as the canyon comes alive.
Our sunrise yoga sessions are designed for all experience levels, focusing on breath, mobility, grounding, and setting an intention for the day.
Guided Meditations
Find stillness beside the river with short guided meditation practices focused on presence, gratitude, breath, and connection with nature.
No previous meditation experience is necessary.
Daily Journaling & Reflection
Each day, you’ll receive a reflection prompt designed to help you slow down and notice the experience unfolding around you.
Prompts may explore:
- What am I ready to let go of?
- What am I noticing that I normally overlook?
- Where do I feel most alive?
- What am I grateful for today?
- What do I want to carry home with me?
Restorative Practices
After a day of rafting, hiking, and exploring, give your body time to recover.
Optional restorative sessions may include:
- Gentle stretching
- Breathwork
- Guided relaxation
- Mobility work
- Restorative yoga
- Quiet time for reflection
The goal isn’t to do more.
It’s to create space to feel better.
Healing Through Connection
A Couples Thai Massage Experience
One of the retreat’s signature experiences is an introduction to couples Thai massage.
Learn simple techniques that you can practice with someone you love, creating an opportunity to slow down, connect through intentional touch, and bring a little of the retreat experience home with you.
The experience includes:
- An introduction to Thai massage principles
- Instructor demonstration
- Guided hands-on practice
- Simple techniques for hands, feet, shoulders, and legs
- Breath and connection exercises
- Take-home techniques to continue practicing together
No previous massage experience is necessary.
Whether you’re traveling with a partner, spouse, friend, or loved one, this experience is about connection, communication, and care.
The Freedom to Do Less
Nothing is required.
You don’t have to attend every yoga session.
You don’t have to meditate.
You don’t have to journal.
You don’t have to book a massage.
You don’t even have to be “good” at relaxing.
You are invited, not obligated.
Participate when something calls to you. Rest when you need rest. Explore when you’re curious. Sit quietly when you want solitude.
Rest is part of the journey.
A Day on the River
No two days are exactly alike, but your days may follow a natural rhythm:
Wake
Rise with the canyon and join an optional sunrise yoga or meditation session.
Nourish
Enjoy breakfast and prepare for the day ahead.
Explore
Hit the river for whitewater, scenery, swimming, hiking, and adventure.
Pause
Take time to slow down, explore a beach, journal, or simply sit beside the water.
Restore
Return to camp for stretching, restorative practices, massage, or quiet time.
Connect
Share dinner, stories, laughter, and the day’s memories around the campfire.
Reflect
Take a few quiet moments to notice the stars, the canyon, and how you’re feeling.
River Moments
Some of the most meaningful experiences can’t be scheduled.
A perfect sunrise.
A quiet stretch of river.
A bald eagle overhead.
A spontaneous swim.
A conversation around the fire.
A moment when the entire group falls silent as the canyon opens around you.
These unscripted experiences are part of the retreat, too.
We call them River Moments: unexpected opportunities to pause, notice, and simply be where you are.
Come for the Adventure
Leave Feeling Restored.
Six nights on the Main Salmon River can change your perspective.
The rapids will challenge you.
The canyon walls will inspire you.
The river will slow you down.
And somewhere between the adventure and the stillness, you may reconnect with something you’ve been missing.
Come for the adventure.
Stay for the connection.
Leave feeling more grounded, connected, restored, and alive.
